My original post was negative, I deleted it and I am looking a little deeper into the changes.

I updated to ver. 2.0.2 and encountered some frustrating moments with What the output was called and Where it was sent. Originally it appeared that Topaz had taken a step backwards in naming the Suffix - that was my fault for not going into preferences and making the appropriate changes. I am still having a problem as to where the output is being sent. It is being sent to the previous folder (the folder of the previously processed photo). Of course you can change it but this is an annoying step. If there is another preference option that will fix this, please let me know, I could have missed it.

I downloaded the trial version yesterday and shot a few images around my neighborhood to make some testings with the program. Right now I have mixed feelings.
The program has three modalities of sharpening. I tried the three of them and it seems that Focus offers very good results when sharpening an image where blur is not involved, for that Stabilize seems to work a little better.

I am not convinced at this point if I should buy this program from Topaz. I have used sharpening with Affinity Photo and it makes a fine job. Denoise AI has also a sharpening machine that works pretty good. I do not like to oversharpening my files.
When I have saved a file after editing it has gone to my desktop, it could have been that the file originated there. I noticed the program offers no choice in regard to the place to save.

The photo will go to what is in the Save Directory; to change the location click on the Change button. My complaint is that the path in the Save Directory is that of the previous photo processed. If you don't notice this and make the correction, your processed photo will not be in the directory it came from.

I liked the old version better easier to use

The save directory isn't an issue if you're using it as a Photoshop plugin. After I finish processing the image in Topaz, it returns to Photoshop.

Overall, I love this program. I've used all 3 sharpening modes, and (amazingly) saved a number of images using the focus mode that otherwise would have been deleted.

It is an issue if it is not being used as a plug in and it's an issue that did not exist in the previous version.

Same problems here. I went back to the previous version which I like and have had great success with. Too old to adapt I guess.

Me too After reading the problems many people have I am not updating. I just use Topaz for final cleanup so the version I have works for me. Too bad. That company has so much potential.

The algorithm used for sharpening is so much improved over the previous versions that I think you should give it a try. I was really impressed with the job it did on a jpeg portrait file because it left 0 artifacts. And relax, it's not a really big deal changing where the program sends the saved file--you just gotta be proactive.

This has been my experience also.

A lot of my BIF shots are just plain bad...and nothing can save them. But on those where the eye focus is close, say, but not perfect, Topaz has helped me put more in the keeper file.

By just trying the Preview in all three modes, before applying to the entire file, I can relatively quickly determine which Topaz mode to use.

I just tried using the latest Sharpen AI on a troublesome image I made in Italy. First I ran sharpening and then focusing. Next opened it in Topaz Studio 2 and made the final tweaks.

I didn't have any trouble using the latest version of Sharpen AI. Using it seems straightforward to me.

Hallway was not well lit and was lucky to catch it when no one was in the hallway. Processed image is below.

My only complaint is that I need a faster machine! It does take time to process.

I am happy to write that an updated version (2.0.3) has fixed where the output will be placed.
