Damn! Can't we ever get away from politics and "political correctness" in the USA? This is about photography.....or so I thought.

It depends on the individual. I have several Olympus Cameras and lens. I also have a Fujilfilm. If you review the Specs, the Fujifilm is smaller and lighter even though Olympus advertises smaller and lighter cameras, but they are comparing "Types", so go back to the old comparison of comparing oranges and apples. Olympus does lead the industry in "Stabilization", which is very good, but in addition to be smaller (X T-30) in side by side tests I find the Fujilfilm sharper and clearer, but the Olympus is good especially its T-6. The latest cameras from Olympus advertise that the newere stablization system help reduce the use of "Tri-pods", so it all depends on the user. Like almost anything else, it depends on the users preferences.

OK, I am not going away so lets get back to the intended subject... They seem to have their act together on stabilization and it will be interesting to see how well the focus recognition works on small animals. With the implementation of dual Quad core processors there must be a lot happening in that little body... Be interesting to see the SOOC JPEG comparisons with the mark II. Anyway, use what is comfortable to you and meets your needs. Maybe for a while we all need to explore our back yards a little more...

This conversation has strayed into undesirable ground. In any case if you study the BCN Ranking for 2019 sales figures across the major retailers in Japan, Canon had the largest market share in all three still camera categories, DSLR, Mirrorless Interchangeable lens cameras (ILC) and Fixed Lens. I'm guessing, therefore, that Feb 2020 was probably just a one month blip.

It sounds like some pretty angry discussions. Why? Many of us are vets who fought side by side. In either event we are all Americans, photographers to some degree or another and in my opinion we should respect each other regardless of our political views.

Many of our camera components are made in China, Korea or Japan.

Best of everything to all.

I agree. We swore to defend the constitution and the constitution is not about race. This pc nonsense is commie propoganda that divides us. I'm Oriental, our parents always called us Orientals and our grand parents couldn't speak English so who knows what they called us. One of my good friends in the military was from Trinidad and just called me jap because he could not pronounce my name, it was hilarious when he tried. I knew 20 years that it is a mistake to deal with China, not because of race but because communism is the enemy of the constitution.

Just the word 'orientals' is considered in poor taste these days, as is lumping a whole group into one false generalization.

Part of the problem in the world. One cannot speak of common things without someone else being butt hurt. I understand hate speak is HORRIBLE but making an observation of facts is just that.

People are going to have to learn to distinguish between certain negaive political groups which most countries have and the down to earth and great citizens, almost like themselves, that each country has. I have spent over thirty years in the military and found most citizens of countries a pleasure to be friends with. Unfortunate, in many cases, the citizens, although great, unfortunately do not previal in the political arena and usually because they don want to get involved often because of the way they will be treated or the life style. I had the unique experience of spending seven months in the Med. and then off to five years in Japan. I also worked with a Neise (Japanese Americans). I never had such a good time with my equals and as we said, we cried all the way home. It was also educational. Bought my first Olympus Pen Camera their (1/2 frame). Now the Olympus Cameras are made in a Center Valley, Pa. (outside Allentown, Pa. North of Phia.). So it was nice to see the two countries working together. When overseas, it was interesting to see what the U.S. look like in the newspaper and on TV in different countries, and it was not always a pretty picture; in fact, at times it was scary...its different being here and from the outside looking in. I guess learning is an endless process.
