Yeah, they ain't fun. I had one in my living room once when I was first married. I came home from school and my wife had placed a glass over it. I took it outside and mashed it flat.

You brought back bad memories. I was 8 yrs old and my older brother threw a baseball to me which I missed and it rolled into our dog’s wooden dog house one summer. I crawled in to get it and was bitten twice on my back. I got gravely ill and had to go to the hospital for the anti venom shot. My doctor was able to tell my Mom what it was that bit me.

I’ve seen them on a number of occasions under the covers of water meters and in old wood piles. Those and Brown Recluse bites can be a very unpleasant experience.

Do I see your reflection in its shine? I respect spiders and leave them alone--except for Black Widows that I find in the house. I've heard too many horror stories about their bites.
