While I never tried Fast draw, I did compete in Bullseye shooting from 1948 until the shakes got me in the 1980s. Was a member of my army post's pistol team and shot in the National Mid-Winters in Tampa in 1955. Also shot in a center fire police-military league in Baltimore where everyone used .38 center fire double action revolvers. Carried my S&W K-38 in a Tom Three-Persons holster when I didn't want to carry my gun box from the base to Baltimore.
Keep safe and don't shoot yourself in the leg!

Thanks CO,, I do not know anything about guns but it was unbelievable how fast they could draw and shoot and hit a target.

While I have owned and fired numerous single action revolvers I have not gotten into the fast draw competition thinking. I can say that Ed McGivern, a shooter back in the 1930's was able to draw and fire a double action Smith and Wesson revolver and fire five shots hitting an Ace of Spades in 1/5th of a second. Single action shooters these days are pretty much about as fast.

This was copied from Wikipedia about shooter Bob Munden:

The exhibition shooter Bob Munden (1942-2012), proclaimed by the Guinness Book of World Records as “the fastest man with a gun who ever lived", could draw, fire, break a balloon target with a blank using a standard weight single-action revolver and return his gun to his holster faster than the blink of an eye. On his DVD "Outrageous Shooting," Munden was filmed shooting .16 of a second in an event called Walk and Draw Level.

Nicely cropped photo!

How'd you freeze the quick draw action at 1/400? Is this posed? Or is this photo just after the peak of action with a subject stall?

...well timed flash?
