Don't you just hate it when companies or people don't deliver on what they promise?

Sometimes things get screwed up. Shipping packages to millions of people every day is complicated. There’s a lot to has to go right. They didn’t lose the package. You got it a few days late. Sounds good to me.

One more FedEx complaint. Ordered a lens from B&H last Wednesday. 2 day shipping. Sure enough on Friday it was on the FedEx truck out for delivery. Wonderful. It didn't come and they posted late afternoon that I had requested a later delivery (I didn't). Sure enough, Saturday morning it was on the truck out for delivery. Didn't get delivered. I started calling customer service. Got nowhere. Office was closed, so they couldn't contact anyone. Got to a supervisor who filed a complaint for me. Now shows scheduled for delivery Monday. Didn't come. They now show that they tried to deliver but no one was home to accept delivery. (No requirement for signature). I'm back on phone to customer service??? and they now tell me they will check it out and I will get a call that night. I got no call. This morning again listed as on truck out for delivery. I finally got a number for the local office but got shifted back to customer service???. Called back to local and got a promise of a call from Manager. She called back about 12:30, but said she really wasn't in charge of the drivers. She couldn't tell me who was or who I could complain to. She did keep me on hold for about 30 minutes & finally assured my the package would be delivered today.
Lo and behold, the package was delivered at 1:08 p.m. Driver wasted no time getting away before I could talk to him/her.
BTW, the lens is great. Sharp pictures. Looks brand new. Thanks to B&H, but from now on when ordering online, I will know who they will ship with before I place the order. Second problem with FedEx and don't have the patience or enough blood pressure medicine for any more of them.
One more FedEx complaint. Ordered a lens from B&a... (show quote)

At various times during my life I have had similar problems with a variety of companies. I have learned that the only thing that is important in my life are my family and friends health and happiness. All other things will come to pass in their own sweet time. I no longer worry about things beyond my control, and you know what, my live got a lot less complicated.
And yes, when ordering anything over a certain amount, many companies, including B&H, requires a signature for their and YOUR protection.

FedEx messed up deliveries to my business so many times that I insisted that my suppliers use UPS.

I used to think it was a local problem since delivery people vary from town to town. But by the number of posts to the contrary, I realize it is (excuse the pun) pandemic. But I have learned to despise FedEx. Too bad most of the packages I receive use FedEx. I've now learned to give an alternate delivery point, my local Walgreens. They sign for packages that require one and they are open when I get off work. Saves me a lot of heartburn. Before I knew about the alternate delivery option, I was to receive a new camera which required a signature on delivery. They always say delivery will be from 1PM to 8PM or something like that. So, I thought, I'll be off by 2PM and home for most of that period. No problem! Wrong! He came early. So, I contacted customer service and asked them not to deliver until after 2PM. They said it wouldn't happen. So, I said, hold the package at the depot and I will come and pick it up there. They said not going to happen. Seems once the package is on the truck, it stays for three delivery cycles and then goes back to the depot. So I had to wait three days and then drive clear across town to visit the depot. You would have thought it was Fort Knox with all the security. It was like bring your passport, show three forms of ID and sign on the bottom line. I exaggerate a bit but honest, I have less security at the military facility I work at. So, I sign in and then they call into the warehouse which is several hundred yards behind the gate and about 15 minutes later, a golf cart is seen approaching and they have the package. Again go through the signing routine before I can get my package and leave.

Funny how it's almost always FedEx that get the complaints.

You’re among the fortunate. I’ve had problems with all 3.

I buy often from B&H. They switched to Fed Ex last year and I complained. They didn't give me an option.

That's what I thought, but Henry P responded that you can choose UPS or USPS. I didn't ask, but my guess is that the other options aren't free.

As to the OP's issue, I asked the driver of the FedEx ground in our area why things show 'on truck for delivery' on Saturday but don't get delivered until Monday at the earliest. He said he goes to the depot Saturday morning to load his truck, but doesn't do deliveries on the weekends. It's silly, but now that I know, I know what to expect.

That's the answer Henry gave to me as well. I detest FedEx. Right now I'm awaiting my dog's Rx. they said from one side of their mouth that it was due to be delivered yesterday and when I go to their tracking, it says today. It's not the first time they deliver later than it is supposed to come. I really don't care if something isn't delivered when they say on their tracking site, but to send me an email saying something is "out for delivery" when it isn't is annoying and not a good business practice. I've had issues with just about all of the delivery services, but the most with FedEx...

Henry says they are a great service, but I digress... This is what he wrote "FedEx has proved to be a valued, reliable, and trustworthy shipping vender, despite the individual circumstance of your transaction"

Did you really need the lens in two days after ordering? So long it hasn't been lost, it will arrive eventually. I could never understand how people can be so impatient. If I know I absolutely need something by a certain date, I always order way ahead of time. When it comes to deliveries, you just never know for sure when it actually arrives. Bad weather, trucks breaking down, drivers calling out sick, too many packages out for delivery - their are many things that may cause delay.

Rather than judging the OP’s needs, the bottom line is that a service is advertised and is reliably unreliable.

I had a similar experience with an order from KEH. FedEx promised Sunday delivery (I know a bit odd). Package was then delayed to Monday, then Tuesday (a small FedEx truck parked in my driveway and left with no delivery). As I had an appointment on Wednesday, I paid for evening delivery on Wednesday. On Wednesday afternoon delivery was rescheduled for Thursday. The package did arrive Wednesday, A FedEX employee took pity on me and delivered my package at 9:00PM Wednesday. He was on his way home and was using his personal car.
