Travel - "deep travel" (as opposed to the "seen it" travel) allows us to meet people from vastly different backgrounds than us, and to learn that they are very much like us. That teaches us compassion and empathy, two things in too short supply these days.
Especially in the US of A. Nice demagogic words.

The same in the whole World.

I only have a couple of things to say to you. What is your problem? You don't even live here. And no one has said anything adverse about your country. You just seem to be a very angry person and extremely upset that we find our country exceptional. Why don't you just let it go? Show us some of your photography. I expect we will have some very nice things to say about it.
Mine too. A few years ago my wife and I helped put up flags at a local cemetery and went to Sheboygan, Wis to see America's tallest flag pole. It is 400 feet tall with a 120 by 60 feet flag. See
www.acuity.com/flag.
It is good to feel that way about your country as I do about mine - Canada.
At the end of many business trips overseas, I was ready and eager to kiss the ground or asphalt at the airport to be back in the USA. I believe it is and can be the best in the world. That's why I am so upset that an anchor baby (whose father was an anchor baby) is so busy spreading fear and hate to people willing to listen and believe it.
The America I know is better than that. Americans of all colors and beliefs are better than that.

If that were directed at me, I travel to see what exists in other places, much of which is beautiful and historic. However, just because I want to see other locations does not mean I'd like to live there.
(And, I am aware that there are residents of other countries who probably feel that their home is the best--they are entitled to their opinion.)
Yes, you are right, traveling gives you an idea and a picture of what it is.
I was born in France and live in Canada for 23 years before coming to the USA (legally loll) I am a citizen of France, by default, nobody asks me my opinion on it.
The USA is a GREAT country for those who want to do something of themselves, when I become a US citizen it was my own decision, I do not have a French passport anymore, don't need it.
I hope to go back to Europe and visit places that are waiting to be admired and appreciated like here.
Let keep this Country safe and be thankful to be part of it, instead to be on our knees and be afraid in some so-called "Socialist paradise"
Unfortunately too many today don't appreciate just how marvelous it is to be an American, but spending time in another country does a great deal to remind us.

I don't mean to be rude, but you Yanks need a reality check...
You live in a barbed wire canoe, located in shit creek.
The Sudan has a lower per capita murder rate than the USA for Gods sake!
All of the following do too!
Argentina Kazakhstan Cuba Kenya Angola!!! Lithuania Niger Turkey Chile Latvia Pakistan Kyrgyz Republic Lebanon.
And! you are 3 times less likely to be murdered in Canada, 4.4 times less likely in
the United Kingdom and 6.6 times less likely to be murdered in Australia than you are in the good ol' USA.
And! your eviction rates are worthy of the Guinness Book Of World Records.
Apart from that, the minimum wage in Australia is about twice as much as what it is in the USA
and medical attention here, from a visit to the Doc for a script, to hospitalization, is for all
intents and purposes FREE!
The murder stats are from the UNs Office on Drugs and Crime's International Homicide Statistics database.
