As a frequent recipient of such incoming rounds in RVN 1969-70, I'd hit the ground and yell "incoming". I only have a small scratch but no PH. chase

"I shot an arrow into the air and where it lands I know not where". Great picture and fast enough to freeze the round at the mortar. I hope that there's enough angle to carry it far enough away. Even a practice round would ring your bell on top of your helmet.

Really great catching that round just out of the tube. That's what is known as "high angle indirect fire" mortars are designed for. If you are good you can drop rounds amazingly close to your own position.
