My grandmother worked as a nurse and as a caregiver for most of her life. One saying she taught us was “Your ten fingers are your ten enemies.” True then and very true now.

A wonderful public service haiku!
...and...
“your ten fingers are your ten worst enemies”... a teriffic, concise, life -saving adage!”

And when two or more are gathered in the name of pursuit of photography, remember that a camera or cellphone can be as potentially dangerous as any handrail, doorknob, checkout counter, or any uncovered cough or sneeze !

Bless you all and take special care!

Dave

Leaders can't save us from viruses. Here's food for thought as mass panic ensues and a stock market meltdown ruins our retirement investments:

[It's allegorical to say that] the Emperor Nero fiddled while Rome burned. (History repeats itself.)

As is the author of the linked article below, I, too, have been a life-long Republican. Hell, I went to college with Tony Snow, the late Fox News host and Bush 43 Press Secretary. And I agree with every word in this article:

OH, YEAH.

iFixIt did a video of a test of four different smartphone cleaning methods. UV light sanitizers and Clorox Wipes worked best:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVsXr6J-CEg

Everyone probably can afford a cylinder of wipes. The Phonesoap UV light sanitizer costs $80 to $200 depending on the model, and is only slightly better than using the wipes.

Send the link to every smartphone user you know! TWICE.

It's copyrighted but you could publish it on your facebook page. Great advice and great publicity.

Wash! Getting the germs OFF of your hands is better than having a handful of (mostly) dead germs.

I suppose you think that Bernie or Sanders is or would do better, huh!!! Or maybe you think you could do better??? I would suggest a good head soaking!! I would also suggest that this is the authors "wishful thinking" at best.

I find interesting and fascinating that when the flu season is here up to 20,000 of us are killed by the flu virus and the media says nothing about it. Corona virus or Covid 19 as it is also called kills 20% of its victims and those are usually patients with chronic diseases or immune deficient systems. The elderly and debilitated have a better chance to succumb to the disease. I read yesterday that a vaccine is right now been tested.

Panic has been generalized. Yesterday several people were wearing masks and the disease tends to infect us through contact with our hands, specially when touching metals. The virus is susceptible to the heat. A simple wash with soap and water removes the virus. Mouth gargles seems to be pretty effective also. Many grocery stores are running out of alcohol, toilet paper and in many cases food.

I have been avoiding large groups of people because if someone is infected it is not known till that particular person begins to have symptoms of pneumonia. I wash my hands frequently, a common recommendation. Simple precautions go a long way.
I hope this pandemic will be history soon so that all of us can go back to our normal activities.
