The biggest issues were the warped U.S. corporate tax laws and the lax regulations....the actual direct cost of labor was lower but many US corporations found that much of that savings was eaten up by inefficiencies, etc.

We may be more reliant on many other countries than any of us wish we were. I am still at a loss as to why China is the bad guy when it comes to this situation. If we ever go to war with China their manufacturing will most likely and quickly be destroyed. Has anyone stopped to find out ACTUAL percentages of Pharmaceuticals are manufactured in China. I usually don’t see that anywhere on the bottles I have. Even when in Latin American countries most of the drugs I spot in their stores are American and Canadian. Know the conspiracy theories out there are almost always wrong, maybe someone can research this and come up with more accurate numbers, probably less than the 80-97% “statistics” I see irresponsibly tossed around on this forum. Me, I am going to play Tennis this afternoon and will not bother to waste further time on this ridiculous conspiracy issue.
Stop shopping at Walmart if you are so horrified that other countries are able to sell cheaper. You wanna live the way they do, you can bring our product prices way down. There is a world economy now. There is nothing any of us can do to change that. It is a fact. As Mnuchin said “...get over it.” Work harder, save more, eat and drink less, exercise, and analyze the bull-crap you hear before repeating it and expanding upon it.
