Wild horses at the Botriver Lagoon, Middlevlei, near Hermanus, South Africa.

We were told there are about 16 wild horses that wander around the reserve so we went out a few times but no sign of them. Then Bob went for a walk one day and came rushing back, they were two just around the corner from where we were staying, with more far away. These were at first a long way off and I tramped through thick and prickly bush with one eye on them and the other watching out for snakes!!
They eventually started to stroll along the banks still quite a way off, by then the golden hour light was pretty.

Sylvia, I love all your photos. These are really great. One of my biggest regrets in life will be never getting to know a horse like I did with my dogs.
