[quote=LWW]In the body it has its host and can replicate quickly, that the original virus cells die off is of no significance.
as well
Still makes no sense. The higher body temperature would quickly kill of the new virus cells. Point your browser at the fact checking site that Staneerae linked. That whole list of stuff is listed as a mixture of truth and falsehood.

It’s good to see that the readers are paying attention and asking questions. It would be helpful to,have some corroborating information and clarification on the temperature issue.

Why to drink even more water? It will dilute the gastric acid and let the virus go unharmed.

A lot has been published in the media and on Gov sites and such. Several listings of symptoms and guidance on care from the CDC and others (I'll call this "others", but it does supposedly come from near ground zero) and in the short term some info may change. The data is still being collected, and the virus may mutate as it spreads. It is apparently from and spread initially by Bat / Pangolin, both of which are eaten/consumed by people in the orient. Johns Hopkins has a Virus Tracker that is updated daily.

I am not a medical professional:

I've read several pieces put out on it from the Medical community and their biggest problem to date is "DATA", there are things they still don't know for sure, (Like what is the interaction of the virus with children, are they just carriers? etc. etc.). We already know that we older folks are at risk, so take care in your actions. Higher temps and sunshine, (and UV-C light spectrum devices) can kill bacteria and virus cells quite effectively, along with certain cleaning compounds. I think my UV-C light will get a good workout in and around my home each day!!!

Lucky for us Floridians, the temps and abundant sunshine will be at and above 80 Deg. F for the next week or two.

IT IS GOOD TO SHARE INFO THIS WAY AS YOU HAVE TO SEARCH ALL OVER THE PLACE AT THIS POINT.

From a BBC Science Source; This is generic virus info, so the actual Coronavirus may have longer/shorter timelines, and as they learn more that will help. I did see that some in the MED field are attaching the SARS designator to the COVID-19, due to the heavy impact on the respiratory system.

Viruses can live for a surprisingly long time outside of a body, depending on conditions such as moisture and temperature. They tend to live longer on water-resistant surfaces, such as stainless steel and plastics.

A cold virus can sometimes survive on indoor surfaces for several days, although its ability to cause infection drops dramatically over time.

Flu viruses can survive in the air for several hours, especially at lower temperatures, and on hard surfaces they can survive and remain infectious for 24 hours.

Enteric viruses, such as norovirus (pictured) and hepatitis A, can survive for weeks on a surface if conditions are suitable. The norovirus is known for causing sickness outbreaks in schools, cruise ships and hospitals.

From WHO:
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)
Also called: 2019-nCov, 2019 Novel Coronavirus
OVERVIEW
SYMPTOMS
PREVENTION
TREATMENTS
Description
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus that had not been previously identified in humans.
The virus causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever and in more severe cases, pneumonia. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently and avoiding touching your face.
HOW IT SPREADS
The new coronavirus spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is characterized by mild symptoms including a runny nose, sore throat, cough, and fever. Illness can be more severe for some people and can lead to pneumonia or breathing difficulties.
More rarely, the disease can be fatal. Older people, and people with other medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), may be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.
People may experience:
runny nose
sore throat
cough
fever
difficulty breathing (severe cases)

There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
You can reduce your risk of infection if you:
Clean hands frequently with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
Cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or flexed elbow
Avoid close contact (1 metre or 3 feet) with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms

There is no specific medicine to prevent or treat coronavirus disease (COVID-19). People may need supportive care to help them breathe. A safe treatment or cure maybe months away.

Stay diligent and keep looking for new information. Our Gov has been slow to jump on-board: South Korea and the US had their first cases on or about the same day....they (SK) developed and manufactured test kits very quickly and had already tested over 200,000 potentials by the time we had tested a few. Now the pace has picked up, and we may see extreme mesures, like the closing of our ports/airport (yesterday) to travel and no large gatherings. Now that our science community is more involved we should learn more, faster.

Re: CORONAVIRUS

From a graduate with a master's degree and who worked in Shenzhen Hospital (Guangdong Province, China) sent the following notes on Coronavirus for guidance:

1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold

2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.

3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.

4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.

5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.

6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it. Sneeze into a sleeve? Wash the garment.

7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.

8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on. Adults touch their face up to 90 times in an hour

9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.

10. Can't emphasize enough - drink plenty of water!

THE SYMPTOMS -

1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days

2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.

3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.

4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.

If true, this information is much more useful than what has been officially provided by the authorities in the US and Canada.
Many Thanks for passing it on. . . .

Most of this information is inaccurate
For instance- the virus can last up to 3 days on environmental surfaces (fact); runny nose and cough are INDEED symptoms of CV19; temperature of liquids you drink has no effect ; the temperature figures are bogus
I am a doc, just sayin' - do not believe everything you get in internet

I'm sure this was well intended but I don't take medical advice from anonymous "masters" students on the internet. This is how untold amounts of internet misinformation get circulated. I prefer getting the information I need regarding COVID-19 from the very qualified and identified specialists at CDC and WHO.

I read a few days ago that some of the related viruses can live on environmental surfaces for as much as a week and a half, and, IIRC, the experts were assuming this one could be the same. So I doubt the short times, and therefore some of the other info (temperature), quoted in the original post

Two professional NBA basketball players from the Utah Jazz Team. Both young, strong, and in good physical condition, have tested positive for the Coronavirus. One sometimes mentioned falsehood, is that if you meet the young, strong, and healthy requirements, you are most likely not to test positive. Only, if you are elderly. There is some truth to that, because in Kirkland, Washington, one nursing home had 18 elderly die from the Coronavirus. Italy, is having a big problem, because nearly 25% of its population is over 60 years of age. And, it is so bad there, that Italy has requested aid from other countries. I fall in the age category. And, I have chosen not to go to events, where there are numerous people congregated. Such as Concerts, movies, all you can eat buffets, that I go to monthly. If, you have a pre-existing medical condition, you are at risk. Such as a heart condition, diabetes, kidney or liver failure, asthma, cancer patients on chemotherapy, and any other respiratory disorders. If, you have any of those medical conditions, your immune system may not be strong enough to fight it off. Personal hygiene, mostly washing your hands regularly, and exercising some common sense, is your best defense. I saw on the TV News two days ago, that 70,000 people that have been tested for the Coronavirus, have recovered. That's good news. It's not a complete death sentence for everyone. We will get past this. In time.

I have never heard anyone claim that your will prevent contracting this or any virus.

Youth does greatly increase the chances of survival of this, or any, virus.

This is what you need to listen too, no BS in this interview here just truths. Forget those suggestions above, especially that temperature one, that alone should tell you these are not valid suggestions.

That is not strictly true. If you recall that last very nasty FLU that went around the world, maybe Spanish FLU?, that one was actually killing mostly 18-26 year olds. It was because of their better immune systems were getting screwed up and their bodies over reacting and turning on itself. Look it up, and you will see that a super immune system is not always the best, each virus does different things, otherwise we would have had a cure by now, for them all.
