Richard ..., to Learn .., or not to learn .., keep your style your style .., , as I said before .., post in download version .., your composition is just fine ..., there can be lots of criticism if you ask and open yourself open to it ....on this Forum .. humility can be a virtue .., today was a good starter ..

Admitting again to over saturation on most shots and asking for opinions on your composition.. , If you post in download so we may take a proper judgement look and ask say “ how can I make this shot better “ .., or “ I’m lacking shadow control on this shot .., how can I control it “ .. “ Here were my settings “ ...

Tell us what camera lens you are using ..., so we can understand the overall range of of your ability to adjust your shooting skills .., given your equipment .., of course this sets you up as a Nikon/Canon/Fuji/Sony / IPHONE etc. user ..., but that’s ok..

And most important ..., ease into your presence on this forum ... so many of the really good photographers on this hog have been here for many many years and have a lot to add and teach other posters ..

If you set your self up for criticism .. you will get it .., If you set yourself up for a humble learning experience , the experts weaned off of film and on to digital are here in spades to help you ...

I can tell you .., you have already shown talent (composition / color / subject variety ) that a some of the hoggs have yet to achieve ...

I like your drive and self admitted willingness to learn ..., I thing you will go far in your photographic endeavors .., If you pull the trigger too fast instead of gently pulling .., your aim will be way off ...
Richard ..., to Learn .., or not to learn .., kee... (show quote)

I’ll try to soak that all in. I started out with 35mm cameras in 1984 and progressed to Medium Format film. I hated seeing digital come aboard (I think 6 megapixels) but as digital cameras improved I eventually went with the flow and currently own a Nikon D750 with a variety of Nikon lenses. Some of my posts will be in all the cameras I have used and currently use. I will try to identify each in future posts. I don’t mind any kind of criticism as long as it is useful. Purely negative criticism can be expected from some people here, but the majority of feedback on my pictures has been very positive. Thanks again Doc!

Hey Rich your photographic eye is like mine, except you have skill. Thanks for sharing all of them.

I joined the Ugly Hedgehog to learn new techniques, view other photographer's work, and to post some of my own photographs for review. I get it! My pictures are over saturated in many eyes. I would rather be critiqued for my composition than my choice of color. So aside from my over saturation, how's my photographic eye?

Photography as any other art is subjective, and your preferences depend on your background, education, ethnicity, religion and number of other things, including your immediate mood. I do like your style, and over saturation in your works serves as important positive component. Thanks.

I actually prefer over saturation than undersaturation. Thank you for taking the time to edit your photos. They are lovely.

They all look good to me too. Pix one seems to be called "boob ball". Can't figure out what she is doing. the rest, including the sun behind the tree are really good for wall hangers. No matter that some people don't like saturation, it certainly has its place.

I'm not a fan of extreme saturation, however it works for me on #2 because it comes across as a work of art rather than a photo. To each their own. There's plenty of room in photography for all tastes.

I like your compositions, but, to me, you do over-saturate. Nice catch on the first one!

Yes, some are over saturated by most standards. Compositions are GOOD - except for Pigeon Point - too much boring fore ground.

In film days, I shot with Fuji films because they were more saturated than Kodak or Konica films. I like the more saturated look.
