Just prompted to download the latest version and what a disappointment. I've been a great supporter of this application but this version is a retrograde step and I recommend caution if you plan to try it. I am using a new iMac and 4.1 has been pretty stable but 4.2 is very very buggy. Let me know if anyone else has tried it and how it behaves?
I don’t use it for several reasons, you mentioned another one.
I am on trial with version 4.0 for a PC. So far, have not noticed any issues. Then again, I am a beginner with Photoshop Elements...learning Lightroom and Photoshop. This looked interesting as they have a program called Aurora HD...took a photo of the Northern Lights while in Iceland.

Aurora HD is very good and stable. I don't know what they can't fix Luminar
Guess I will wait to download it and stay with 4.1 till they get the bugs worked out. Thanks for the tip.

Response 30 mins after contacting Skylum on the issue
"Hi Bob, Please note that 4.2.0 is not officially released yet. It was only a soft launch for particular countries.
We will do our best to prepare the official release."

I had difficulty downloading it, but once i did, i found it worked well. It has not been released yet, will be released on March 19.
I'm on version 4.1.1. Just for grins I did a "Check for Updates" and got this:
Lucky me twice. I am living in 1 of 3 countries Skylum uses for advance releasing of their Luminar updates. I read this concern just before I was going to upgrade my 4.1.1.

Downloaded and upgraded to 4.2. Seems to work quite well, at least no crashes like 4.0.

I downloaded Luminar 3 but didn't find it sufficiently better than version 2018 for me to use it much at all. Luminar 2018 has been totally bug free and I use it a lot. Aurora has been thoroughly reliable, as well.
I am running Windows 10. My Luminar 4 version is 4.4.1.1. I have no problems with it and think it is a great program, at least for me.
I have been very happy with 4.1.1 and when I look for upgrades they reply I have the latest. Their AI is so good. Sky replacement is a thriller. Some real good support. I had a problem with a sky replacement and got an immediate response and suggestion to fix. So I am a believer.

Figured out why I was getting error when trying to check for updates - my firewall was blocking access to their server. Problem solved.
Using Luminar 4 on iMac, when used as a stand alone, after changes made to pix, and you try to Export the photo, it crawls, & crawls; slow as hell, takes about 30-50 sec to export 1 JPG from RAW; the worst I have ever seen. Never experience this with any of my other software, just Luminar 4. When I complained to support about this, someone suggested, to use it as a plugin to Lightroom, Photoshop, etc, etc. I tried that and yes, it does give a much quicker response to send pix back to Lightroom, from there you can export it without the 30-50 sec wait that Luminar 4 gives. I have some of their other software(s) that works well;but this has got to be the worst I have seen, mainly when used as a stand alone !
