Score another political victory for Trump! Frank and his ilk would have applauded any deal with the Taliban before Trump came into office. Had Obama done this, like the deal he made with Iran, Frank would have been posting a praiseworthy article instead. Trump has effectively convinced Leftists that you can't make deals with terrorists. Add this to the growing list of issues for which Trump has made Leftists completely change their mind on.

Leftists have done a 180 degree reversal and now embrace these ideas because of Trump:

They want Open Borders

They like Free trade

They are Deficit Hawks

They want our military to stay in Syria and other places that are not necessarily our business

They are against the killing of terrorists

They suddenly consider Russia to be the enemy

They are against our leader making nice with Dictators, except when he condemns them, in which case Leftists are aghast that he is "fomenting aggression and starting World War III."

Leftists are suddenly worried that we must arm Ukraine, when under Obama they supported cutting off aid to Ukraine.

They are now critical of people who avoided military service

They now consider unemployment figures to be unimportant

I did read it and it is a bunch of bunk. They claim that America would release thousands of Taliban prisoners. The truth is, we don't have thousands of prisoners, Afghanistan has them and has vowed not to release them. About the only valid thing the article said was that Obama's retreat from Iraq "led to killing on a mass scale and metastasized the international terror threat under ISIS." Yet another 180 degree turn from Leftists (see my list in previous comment). At the time Obama was praised by Time Magazine and all the other Leftists for keeping his campaign promise of withdrawal from Iraq.
