SX40 Chromatic Aberration Issue?

I currently have a PowerShot S3 and I'm thinking about getting the PowerShot SX50. The S3 is a good little camera, but chromatic aberration (that color fringe that appears along the edges of image objects) is a real problem with it. My question to the SX40 owners, did you have a problem with chromatic aberration? My concern is, if the SX40 had the problem, then without a doubt, the SX50 would also. Any input about this from the SX40 owners would be greatly appreciated before I invest in the SX50.

They really improved the SX40's ability to counter CA, over previous models. But they'll never get rid of it completely, when you've got a dark object against a light background.

Thanks Carioca. A very, very little might be livable, but if the new SX has as much as the S3, then I have to re-think getting a Canon PowerShot.

Take a look for yourself. Most of the popular photo repositories (Flickr, SmugMug, Picasa Web Albums) can be searched. Just search for SX40 or any other specific model you're interested in. I always check these out when I am shopping for a new camera.

A chromatic aberration is a natural optical phenomenon, which cannot be avoided. However, the higher the resolution, the less it appears.

Haven't noticed it on any of mine. Either I don't take pictures that would have it, or it is too slight for me to see. SX40
