Very good night image!

We Americans seem to be way to eager to bulldoze and bury our historic structures when compared to the places from which our ancestors came. My town has a small “historic” commercial district that is advertised as “Historic Downtown” with directional signs for visitors. Except for two or three buildings, the storefronts and interiors have been remodeled to the point of having no resemblance to their historical appearance. The only thing historic about them is ground they are sitting on. Sad.

Here is a night shot of the old train station in Hamilton, Ohio.
There is effort to save it from the wrecking ball underway. Built around 1850 and recently served as the Amtrak station until a few years ago. It has sat dormant except for rail storage.
Once visited by Abraham Lincoln a few day before the election and again by Harry Truman during his campaign.
Shot with a D850 and a non VR 24-70.
Best when downloaded.

I love the 'mood' of the picture. Shooting the train station at night perfectly captures the history of the station. I started shivering from the cold just looking at it!

Nice on download. Many old train stations seem to be turning into museums and other public service places.

Here is an example of what is happening to these great old stations - I remember when this station was open and the Great Northern was active there moving the ore from the mines of Mullan, Burke & Wallace to the smelter in Kellogg - I lived there '50-'55

Totally agree!

But where’s the Christmas tree?

I can’t see for looking these days!

In the back house on the right hand side of image I thought I saw a tree in the window

Very very good. Hope they save it. The world doesn't need another strip mall or parking lot.
