Hi all. About 3 weeks ago, I started feeling lousy. Two weeks ago, I collapsed in my apartment. It's because of my vigilant friend and neighbor who happened to check on me right then, that I'm still here. By the time the EMT's got there, I'd quit breathing and had no heartbeat. Thanks be to God, I'm still here and on the mend.

Welcome back to the world and UHH. We hope to see more of your submissions when you are able.

Thank God for your neighbor and for the EMT's who in my opinion were doing His will.

Scary. Glad you pulled through. I've been through something similar but I only passed out due to arrhythmia and after hitting the floor I awoke to my wife talking to me and soon the arrivals of Paramedics/EMTs. I was breathing and I guess my heart weakly working throughout.

As a retired firefighter/paramedic of 31 years I have been to more cardiac arrests than I can recall. The response time must have been short. Most cases, at least in my experience don’t go so well. I’m glad to read of your good fortune as I know how rare that can be. Best wishes for a great recovery. Nice to read of such an outcome. Take care.

Don't get me wrong Bob ( I'm a Christian and deeply believe in God) but when people say "thanks be to God" my first thought is- why didn't God just prevent the mishap in the first place??

But, I am glad you're on the mend. I was on my way out about 7 years ago. But thankfully to modern medicine I'm still kicking...

Thank you all for your kind responses. The best part is, it brought my two oldest children back to me. My being a stubborn old fool, drove them away several years ago. Even a stubborn old fool can learn.
