Why is there all this talk about resizing and adding to the image?
That is not the problem.

The problem is that not all the photo was printed.

Hope you don't mind. I did this by expanding the canvas at the top, then using the rectangular marquee tool select the area of the main photo above the head, then use the free transform tool (ctl t) and drag the selection to the top of the new canvas.

thank you. i'm fairly new at portraits. it's nice to know it wasn't a total disaster. lol

The composition is good with how the shoulder lines work in the image.
It would be pretty boring if we only took headshots in portrait framing.

thank you for your help. not sure if i have that capability. i only have photoshop 2 & a limited ability to use it (i'm stupid)
