Does anyone know if there is existing footage of a photographer from the late 1800s-early 1900s taking photographs? It is for a documentary series.
Vy "footage", do you mean "movies"? Can't help you there, but,
if you mean "Old photographs, Luminous Lint", has thousands of
old photos, some with the photographers name, etc.!!! I hope
that helps.

Years ago the Lincoln homestead used to show a film that included a modern depiction of photography back then. The part I remember was the photographer letting a pretty young woman walk through the scene because the film was so slow she would never show. I don't know if they would sell/give that portion to others, and I don't know if that would help, but it is an idea to think about.

Check "The Internet Archive"
https://archive.org/Excellent source for just about anything.
You Tube "First motion picture inventors" shows some early footage.
I have stills from that time frame, taken by my father, both in our home town, and in WWI. He was born in 1893. I have the original glass-plate negs.
