Last week I completed my week at the Grand Canyon. I took a 3 day mule trip to the bottom and spent 2 nights at Phantom Ranch (which has been there for about 100 years). What an amazing experience. I would do it again tomorrow if I could. The mules are incredible animals.
Here are a few photos from my experience. First time posting photos. Please let me know what you think. That dashing looking fellow on the magnificent steed is me. Photo taken with my camera by one of the wranglers.
What a wonderful trip and great photo's to remember it by.

That must have been a wonderful experience. I’d have been afraid that the mule I was riding would slip and fall over the edge with me on his back. Beautiful images of a memorable trip. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
You're a braver person than I! I only made it down to the third step before turning back. Mule ride would have been too much for me. I'm jealous.
Besides your lovely portait, my favorite is the view of the Canyon between the mule's ears.
Thanks for the comment Cindy. It was a great trip.
Thanks MadMikeOne. My goal for the trip was to stay in the saddle which I successfully accomplished. I had hiked down 3 previous times so I was not as scared as I might have been otherwise.
Thanks BlueMorel. I have seen the "between the ears" photos before. You cannot take photos unless you are at a mule rest stop, so you kind of have to take what you get, but I kind of liked that one.
I always wanted to make that trip. Nice set.
Thanks for the comments kmpac. I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time about 8 years ago. When I walked up to the rim it took my breath away.
I love the "between the ears" look. That's how I saw the world for years. Those mules are so sure-footed and allow one to just relax and enjoy the scenery.
Nice! I always wanted to do that.
What a wonderful trip and beautiful photos to post. Well done. I took a mule ride at Bryce and was so sore when I got back, I haven't ventured it again. The guide stressed the fact to keep your mule close to the one in front as they've been known to fall asleep and flop over. That did happen to one fellow on the ride, luckily in a flat area and no one was hurt. Please post more from the trip!

I hope you have more photos to post! I would not be able to hike that trip, and the mule trip has always been an interest, but I think I would be too scared to be up there swaying back and forth on top of a mule on a narrow trail!
