Yes, it is a PIA, but so is most of life - then we die.

I'll have to install Win10 from the disk I bought in 2016. They key number on the envelope is not the key number that ProduKey found on the computer, so I foresee another problem. A new Dell keeps looking better all the time.

Is it the new PC you built a couple of years back?

It's the "old" PC from 2016.

Another Catch-22. I installed AceMoney, and it looks similar to Quicken. I can't import my Quicken data because I have to be able to run Quicken in order to do that. If I could run it, I wouldn't need AceMoney. : )

Did you try the Microsoft money I told you about? If I recall, it found the quicken saved file and imported everything, but that was a few years ago. There might be a file you have to install to get it 100% in windows 10.

Is "AceMoney" looking for a running instance of Quicken in order to import? Or is it simply needing a Quicken Data file?

Yes, Quicken must be running. Then I have to Export files, group them, and rename them.

I'll take a look.

EDIT: It looks like it has been discontinued, but it has been replaced with a free program with a longer name: Microsoft Money Plus Sunset Deluxe.

I installed Money, but Quicken must be open to convert the files to the Money format.

(I can't imagine that it would have to be a running instance of Quicken, just the data files.)

I has to be converted, just like with MS Money. When I reinstall Win10, Quicken will work - maybe.

Jerry,
Open Money, go to file and then down to restore backup. Point it to your last backup of quicken. See if that works. You do have Quicken backed up somewhere, don't you? Also, my post told you it was Sunset edition.

Nope. I just reinstalled Windows, and I'll see if Quicken works.
