With respect perhaps you don’t know about or recognize poetic license. Surely you do not know U. S. Marine warriors throughout history.
Have a wonderful day thanks in large part to America’s military including the USMC.

Trust me, you were missed. Marines love Corpsman and welcome them anytime.

Yes my dad was a Marine in the Pacific. I disappointed him by becoming one of those crazy Airborne Army soldiers.
Semper Fi to your dad. I don’t know if other branches do this but each new group of Marines is taught the importance of brotherhood and also to respect those Marines who came before us. I have been known to tear up when meeting China Marines as well as Marines from WW2 and Korea because I know these Marines, like your dad fought a brutal sadistic enemy and had to be a more hardened warrior to win those wars. But likewise when my twin brother and I were at a USMC reunion we were allowed PX privileges. When new Marines saw us and asked if we served in Vietnam it was some of them who started to choke up as if we were something special. Believe me we have never thought we did anything special. We just did the job we were assigned to do. But that is how Marines are.
I doubt you disappointed your dad. I suspect he was very proud of you and your accomplishments. My favorite uncle was in the Army with the 101st Airborne. My older brother was in the Army as well and our father was in the Navy during WW2. But my father’s best friend in high school joined the Marine Corps and very well may have fought alongside your dad. I believe he fought on Iwo Jima. He is why my brother and I joined and could not wait to get into combat.
Thanks for your service my friend.

Thank you.
Actually our family have all branches represented in it except for the Coast Guard and the Space Force.
My children all went into the Army except one who did not serve but she got married right out of HS.
One became a full Colonel and it was a pleasure to salute him.
