Eagle and buzzard with different backgrounds added. Backgrounds are from The Artisan.
Textures, overlays, backgrounds. Hand-made, free or purchased. It's all good! Connie, in the next couple of days I'm going to create a share topic for people to use like a library: share their work with others to borrow, and a place for links to free products (I don't think purchased can be shared due to licensing restrictions).
Thanks for these demos!
Fantastic! I love how both of these turned out! Great bird pictures, too!
I really like #1, he looks more dictatorial majestic than the eagle that is fussing. Humm, a new national bird? I hope not!
a connection problem but here is a link that does contain info

These backgrounds were from The Artisan Collection at DailyTexture.com. I also use Photomorphis and Flypaper textures. I am assuming the link posted by someone else is for textures.

https://b-m.facebook.com/artisanbackgroundsThe eagle was fussing! A juvenile eagle had just harassed him as I was getting ready to take a shot of him. It flew up to him and tried to get on his perch and he was not happy about that! He did not give way but voiced his opinion loudly.
You made that vulture positively handsome! Awesome job!

I generally not a bird enthusiast. But bird photography with a little art behind it can be outstanding as your images show. It makes it interesting without detracting from the photographic accuracy of the bird. Will love to see more of your work.
Nicely done. I love both of those bird images.
The bird is the word, and the word for #1 is simply outstanding! Powerful, dramatic and princely - not bad for a buzzard!

The bird referred to here as a “buzzard” is, in fact , a vulture. “Buzzard” is the common lumping term for all hawks of the genus Buteo, sometimes also “lumped” and called “broadwinged hawks” which include red-tails, red-shouldered, broad-winged, rough-legged hawk (including the European buzzard) , Ferruginous hawk, (... and some ornithologists would include the genus Parabuteo - Harris hawk) and the other Buteo species of Asia, Africa, and the Neotropics. Incidentally, birders typically snort in derision to hear a vulture referred to as a “buzzard”.
All the buzzards may occasionally resort to feeding on roadside carrion, and so may become confused with vultures which typically rely on a carrion diet.
Great images!
Dave
Both are very effective, you’ve matched each background very well to the subject images.
