Orlando Gator Land Rookery question

Does anyone have experience photographing birds at this attraction. I know they have a rookery and they offer photographer passes with extended hours. I have been to the St Augustine Alligator Farm and wondered how Gator Land compares for photography. It would certainly be a lot closer for me.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Sounds like it must be pretty good. I know St. Augustine was great but this is so much closer!

The bird opportunities at Gatorland are many and varied. BUT, I have never seen Spoonbills there. There are Flamingos tho and once in a while an Osprey drops out of the sky ! There is also opportunity for the two captive Bobcats they have there as well as Parrots, McKaws and Cocatoos. Military veterans get FREE admission - more places should follow their example ! 8-)

Thanks for a lot of good info. Sounds like I definitely need to give it a try. I see Spoonbills at Merritt Island but the Flamingos sound interesting. Is the rookery active during the normal season.

Thank you. Right now I’m most interested in a rookery for this season. It sounds like they have a lot of good opportunities.

Unlike the Alligator Farm, Gatorland is predominantly a morning shoot. In the past entrance has been at the south end of the park at 7:30 AM for photographers only, park is not opened till 10 AM , and you are locked in till the park opens. Otherwise, GREAT Shoot, enjoy

I have not photographed either place in a while, but liked Gatorland better especially with the early opening
