We did go in the "Happy House". Could only walk around Wolf House. And, yes, very sad that it burned down just before they were ready to move in!!
I was there many years ago. The story goes; The workers were just finishing the house, then when rubbing the panels, they caused a fire and burnt the house down just days before they were to move in. Jack, soon after, died from alcohol poisoning. He would drink a fifth a day.
To bad, he was a gifted author
