I posted this before I heard that Mr. Peanut is really "dead." Planters killed him off - for some reason. Stupid!

I had the great pleasure of metting him many years ago (CVS in Quincy Ma) and he was a perfect gentlemen. I can only hope that reports of his demise are greatly exaggerated.

Yes, I saw a TV ad where he was holding on a branch, extended from a cliff, with two other men. He was hanging out the farthest, when the part of the branch cracked.. And he purposely fell to his death. The other two men were still hanging on the branch, disappointed Mr. Peanut fell. Don't know if they survived. Mr. Peanut died at the age of 104.

You can bet these decisions were made by younger people who did not grow up with Mr. Peanut. When they dumped Mr. Peanut, they lost me.
