That’s weird! Can’t get a clear blow-up, but the bubble appears to be on top of the rt pedipalp. Could be blood of a wound, or just an errant droplet of dew? Don't think it's intentional. Because of the very large eyes, I’d guess a wolf??? But, not very spiny, either. However, much of the front appears out of kilter, perhaps malformed in the last molt. Must have been OK growing up, otherwise could not have fed easily – yet looks well fed for an adult male. The major eyes appear too close together than normal for any spider I know of (except for the ogre-faced). I can’t tell what the three(?) spots are behind the big eyes – if the posterior eye line, then not a wolf – they have an anterior line of 4 in front of the larger eyes – and I can’t see any other eyes. They appear to be three of them, not a normal eye #, should be 4 if they are really eyes (or is the middle pair combined), but everything is wrong for a jumper that would have 2 large anterior median eyes (AME). Not an ogre-faced (postage-stamp) spider which does have 2 large posterior eyes, but 2 really tiny behind them -- and a very different arrangement otherwise and a different general morphology. The chelicerae also look odd, but difficult to tell – they appear too narrow, perhaps only one developed, and skewed to the side. All-in-all, a very odd one! There are a couple of other desert spiders with large median eyes, but all different otherwise. A very strange fellow indeed! A very good catch, wish there were more pics.

Thanks, all! Not many pixes; that was my best effort...laying on my back, under a picnic table...I may have been holding an off-camera flash in one hand (a budding Strobist, in those days)...and he moved fast!
