Are you sure that there was not some other reason to ban you? Seriously, I read your post twice and couldn't find a single thing that would upset anyone with a normal brain.

That thread (and apparently much of the discussion regarding imaging software techniques/applications) is dominated by one poster, himself a moderator. In threads such as this, no one who even mildly expresses openness to FOSS or, in reality, anything other than Adobe, gets shouted down. He is a moderator, and, apparently, one who wields a lot of influence on the site. I have received emails from those sympathizing my view in this and one other similar thread who will not engage in the forum with this poster. I am fine, have this and other fora from which I can draw valuable information, however, I grow weary of those who, likely, have never spent enough time with FOSS offerings to even grasp their capability constantly putting them down.
I don't consider myself a fanboy for FOSS, as I have long used proprietary applications when I felt they benefited my workflow. In this thread, the OP specifically expressed his interest to dual boot and asked for opinions regarding Gimp or other editing applications (even PS) that would run on the Linux side of his setup. I took especially strong exception to a post which expressed suspicion of one poster who simply expressed his preference for Gimp and another describing those professessing such a preference as a FOSS evangelists, IMHO, very inappropriate coming from a moderator of the forum.
My interaction on this forum is very limited, probably no more that four or five posts. I consider it a good source of information, and, for that, regret being banned. On the other hand, there are any number of other fora, including this one, where I can obtain equally helpful information absent the skin-wrinkling presence of non-helpful, agenda-focused attitudes as displayed in this forum.
I made a special effort to modulate my response and avoid making it personal. Didn't work.
Thanks for all the replies.
