Renaming problem LR Classic

I have 11,000 pics in a folder on my D:drive called"

"D:\PSEs PICS\PICS with edits for LR\FAMILY PICTURES"

In the Library modual in LR on the left, I labeled it "Family Picture" and it says there is 11,000 picx in it.

No problem there. However in the Meta data Meta Data section on the right under "Folders", the full path shows "D:\PSEs PICS\PICS with edits for LR\FAMILY PICTURES". All I want to do is rename this folder to "Family Pictures" so all my pictures Meta Data will show "D:Family Pictures" instead of that long path name. So in the "Navigator" section on the left, the path will take it to D:Family Pictures:....
Not sure if I explained it good enough.
Can anyone interpret this and make a suggestion?
John

I am not exactly sure what you are asking so let me make an attempt. You currently have the images in D:\Folder\Subfolder\Sub Folder and you want them to be in D:\Folder. Then you will have to create D:\Folder (in this case, D:\Family Pictures) and move all the files into that new Folder.

(Just to make sure that my instructions doesn't cause any damage: make sure you do all of this within Lightroom and not with any other program, i.e., File Explorer.)

You're trying to do things the hard way, imho. leave them in the folders for the rat named what they are. Select them all and enter the key word family. Then create a quick filter on the left hand side down in the bottom area and use family as a filter then all you have to do is go to that, click on it and only your family pictures will show.

in other words let Lightroom do its maintenance and cataloging and you just do filtering to find them. This doesn't take any more disk space all it is is pointers pointing back to the photo where it's at. You can do the same thing for each member of your family, this is exactly what I do.

Never change anything on the right panel. Only make changes on the left panel. The left panel is where you move folders and change names and drag and drop. The right panel should only be used for import purposes.
