Nikon D500 might just be worth looking into , still maybe the tg-6 after all,, it is a tough one..

If you get the D500 you are going to need big pockets.

And whatever camera you do get, it will more than likely be damaged
if it has to share a pocket with things like keys, or a Leatherman... SHEESH!

God only knows how your Oly' was not damaged in your pocket too!

We are not handing out PhDs in English spelling and grammar here but doing photography and cameras.

I am a retired teacher and it took me a long time to get over correcting people all the time. Now I only do it if their mistakes cause confusion or misunderstanding.

Who gave you the right/power to criticize and try to embarrass the man? (if he cares about your opinion)

And I just went back and read the posterss who are having a fine old time critiquing the man's grammar and spelling instead of addressing his problem + those who just wanted to put him down for how he carries and treats the camera with NO EFFORT to discuss the issue, offer help or recommend other - tougher - cameras. I think my quick count was 7 language critics and 4 bashers - some with multiple posts and even to each other in a "Mutual Admiration Society".

My very uncharitable thought at this moment = BUZZ OFF and "golf, foxtrot, yankee". (60 Army radio phonetic - each letter is the first of a word of a 3 word phrase not used to people you like at the moment)

You are right Robert. However a bit of ribbing might motivate Bubble to improve his
written English... which would make his posts easier to read.

And Bubble does need a wake up call... the damage the camera
has suffered is his fault, not the cameras.

And if you ever had anything to do with the Book of Manners it was a collison with your head when someone throw it at you.

If you don't have something nice to say. DON"T!

That would be an act of violence, which is much worse than an act of (alleged) bad manners Robert.

Just grab a set of tools and fix it. No big deal. If you are completely incompetent at repairing stuff, find a friend or relative who can help you.

Bad grammar is one thing but the post was barely readable. And what’s with ,, between every phrase?

Mistreatment of the camera will not be covered under warranty. Even if the battery door was good I doubt the rest of the camera is very weather resistant. A camera like this I would not carry this in my pants pocket. Maybe a button shirt pocket would be better. Can't blame Sony for this at all.

maybe just luck or like one of my friends said ,,,"they don't make them like they use to", car bodies are thinner, camera bodies thinner,, what ever they reason,, the oly,, never faltered,, sent in in one time in all the year for a clean up, i still use it,, i took the pictures of the sony with it. it just early morning or shots at a concert where you have ver low light settings,, it was just not as it use to be,, daytime they still look sharp..but a lot of my pictures are of animal in the grey light or at dusk,, thought it was time to get use to a new camera.

I read it just fine in one go.
Maybe 35 years of interpreting my student's writing (printing at the end of my career-I had to teach them cursive) helped a bit.

And the extra commas didn't bother me a bit - did they jump off your monitor and bit you or something?

Again, this isn't a "Perfect your grammar, punctuation and spelling forum."

You say you are in your 50's? You might ask an eye doctor if you have early cataracts. I am 74 and got told I had very mild beginnings three years ago. Now my eye doctor(s) both said that by next year (this year now) they will recommend corrective surgery. The wife says she notices my problems with colors, brightness and shadows etc. because TV shows she sees fine I think are too dark and lacking in details. She is a retired surgical RN and is hinting I should call Kaiser and get setup for the surgery this year.

Lots of Birthdays are great - just don't grow old.
