For the older folks: watching 11 o’clock news last night 1/12/20 and they put up a shot of the moon. The other half said “look there’s a beautiful moon out”. As up to date on everything as I am😅 I didn’t know there was a full moon. I thought going to see about this! Got my sleepy body up out of the chair and got my trusty Oly with my $99 40-150 lens and set my custom moon settings. Out I went on the front porch, looked up and there it was shining brightly. Took a few quick shots and all were pretty much the same. The image is Sooc and handheld. Now note I am 92 and if I can do it you can too! Try download.

Excellent shot Bob. Surprisingly sharp for a relatively short lens. I often shoot the moon and I am young enough at 78 to be your son Well maybe.

Thanks Son but the 150 on the Olympus 4/3 is 2X so it’s actually 300mm. They had a special on this lens some time ago and for the price 5 stars!!

Yes I hate using a tripod unless absolutely necessary. I’ve been at this for a log, long time 😀

Nice shot, Bob. So you're saying this gimpy 65 year old should still be up late enough to see the late news AND be willing to go out into the cold to take photos of the (almost) full moon??? You know the moon gets full in the summer too, don't you?

So maybe April or October would be JUST right? So you were in the Navy nearly ten years before I was born. My Dad joined in '42 and spent his time in the Pacific on PT boats.

Not me, Bob. My hands are WAY too shaky for a moon shot, but you're an amazing fellow! Always fantastic shots from you!!

My delicate hands (from never having to do hard steady work) are surprisingly steady. Controlling the camera weight is another issue. Heaviest thing I had to hold for any length of time was my saxophone!🎷🎷My moon shots are basically a point and shoot concept. I have a basic custom setting, grab the camera and grab a few adjusting EV and that’s it and don’t have to be that steady.
Thanks Donna

Bob, excellent. You have steadier hands at 92 than I have at 71.
