Anhinga Dries His Wings After Under Water Fishing

We have several of these birds that fish our pond every morning. Since all of their fishing is under water, their feathers get waterlogged. It is a common sight to see them standing with outstretched wings and fanned tail for quite some time waiting for their feathers to dry.

It's amazing that the anhingas, cormorants have to dry their feathers before they fly, they should have evolved by now. Nice work!
