I don’t know if it’s a case of gas, seeing the writing on the wall, or both. I’m seriously looking into getting a Z6. I’ll keep my D750, at least for now, for sports shooting.

I want to know if anyone has gone from a D750 to a Z6, and if so what your thoughts are on the switch. I have the $, so that is not a factor. I will be selling my D7200 equipment, though, as it will only collect dust with the addition of the Z6.

Thanks for your comments,
Dana

I'm curious. What do you see as the benefits of the Z6 over the D750?

I have a D810 and had a D750 as well, but I love my Z6. Just got the battery pack for it also and that is one of the best packs Nikon has ever made. The Z6 will be with me for a long time.

When you know you need a mirrorless camera, you have the knowledge to succeed.

It’s small, which will fit my hands better. It’s size will make it better for street photography, which I do a lot of. The camera itself has image stabilization, so I will have VR with the lenses that don’t have it, it shoots at 12fps and opposed to the 6.5 with the D750, shutter speed goes to 1/8000, not 1/4000, and many more focal points to name the main reasons.

Thank you. Now I’m one step closer. 🤗

A few months ago I purchased a Z6 along with a couple of S lenses. At the moment it is complimenting, not replacing, my DSLRs. I wanted to start to get ready, for what I see, is the future. Best of luck.

So if you buy a mirrorless camera and you don't succeed, is it the camera that sucks or the person behind it, or do you just blame the Russians.

That’s how I see its use at this time. I’m far from even thinking of selling my D750. That may change if it just gathers dust, however.

I’ll just blame Trump.

Thank you. The IBIS would be important for me (I do 90% landscape) the others features not so much. But thank you for responding.

The blame clearly lies with the previous camera.
Plain as day. Inferior cameras lead to bad habits.

I went from a D7500 to a Z6.
I have the Z mount 24-70 F4, 24-70 F2.8, 14-30 F4, and a couple of F mount lenses.
When walking around in town during the day the F4 lenses are great and actually as sharp as the F2.9 in F mount.
If you do night scapes you'll wish you made the switch earlier. The WYSIWYG in the view finder shows your exposure as you change the settings. The 273 focus points cover pretty much the whole frame. You'll find yourself actually using them. Picture quality is great and low light is great as well.

I tried a few of the competing Sony's and didn't like them. Probably because I'm used to the Nikon feel and menu system.
Good Luck

There are no limits to what you can accomplish when you own a mirrorless camera.
