From a trip in April 2016. I have been making adjustments on my monitor settings trying to correct some issues with brightness and white balance. I knew there were a lot of trips where the images were looking too dark and dull when shared to public media, so decided to re-work the edits. Monument Valley was one of the posts that suffered most from those problems so I am sharing the new and improved (I hope) version for your consideration. Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful suite of pix!

The only thing I might do would be to apply a little Haze Reduction to the distant features in #1 and #5.

This is a truly beautiful set of photos! Nice work with the foregrounds in all of these. The big vistas in MV require attention to foreground, there is so much of it! I hope I am mindful of your work if I ever get back there, thank you.

First, I LOVE your pictures. Second, I was also there in Apr 2016 and may have been standing nearby. I was wearing a blue shirt. Do you remember me? But seriously, Monument Valley is one of the most memorable trips I've ever taken, for the awesome formations and the spiritual feelings.

Yeah--and I had on the khaki narrow brim hat, remember? But you are right about how inspiring the valley is! Thanks so much for taking time to visit and leave the lovely comment, Bill.

Great photographs of a very special place! My favorite of your set is #4!

Thanks so much, JayRay. Sunrise/sunset are always my favorite color palette. The advantage of having the Native American guide (Ray Begay) is his knowing the park like the back of his hand and getting us to the perfect spot for the sunburst.

My LR6 doesn't have the haze reduction. I could possibly use the adjustment brush to select the background monuments and up the clarity, and maybe turn down the highlights. Although, the purplish haze does kinda add some separation from the foreground. I'll play with that, though. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, bwana.
