In the article they speak of the technology applied to electric cars giving them a range of 1000km/621-mile range. That sounded great until I searched for recharging times and they were suspiciously absent. Drive for 10 hours, charge for 40???

Very interesting, but the article didn't give any technical specifications such as the per cell voltage. That is important because if it is too high, they might not be able to make battery packs that are compatible with today's cameras. That would mean that we would need to invest in expensive new equipment to take advantage of the technology. On the other hand, if the per cell voltage is similar to lithium batteries, we would be able to buy new batteries and be able to use the current crop of cameras with the advantage of longer battery life.

The problem with lithium sulfur batteries has always been the number of times you can recharge them. These folks have made some good progress in that regard, but the number of recharges you'll get is still far fewer than with current batteries.
