Hello! My name is Teresa and I live outside Nashville, Tennessee. I have been reading this forum for about 6 months now, but I just now actually registered so that I am able to post. I have really enjoyed reading all of your posts and seeing the photos. I have owned a DSLR camera for about 10 years, but mostly just used the Auto function. I enrolled at a local community college so I can finally learn all about how to use it. My first semester, I fell and broke my arm about two weeks before school started, so I was unable to take Basic Photography, although I did take PhotoShop and Digital Technologies. I will finally be able to start the photography part in a couple of weeks when the new semester starts. The camera I have is a Nikon D5000, but I decided to use it to begin with and save money while I am learning so I will know more about what I want to purchase. I will also be taking B&W darkroom this semester. I love taking pictures of nature and wildlife.
Welcome, sounds like you have the desire and drive to excel in photography. Here's wishing you the best and look forward to seeing your photos.

Welcome Teresa. Sorry about the arm. Now you're back and ready to have some fun.
Enjoy and get out there and shoot, shoot and shoot some more and post them up!!!!

Welcome. Dont be afraid to askquestions
2 D5000s as my fall back cameras. Excellent cameras. I do raw, single point focus, tri pod, aperture priority. Mostly shoot at 200 or 400 ISO. Trick I use for better colors is minus 1/3 ev setting. Kind of like when we use to underexpose slide film for better colors. It is a great little camera only replace it when you can not achieve your desired images. I still shoot it on a regular basis. Most of all have fun! Experiment!

Welcome to the Forum Teresa.
Welcome, Teresa! The d5000 is a great camera. Actually it was my first digital. I still have it and use it quite often. Along with the d750, (2) d200, it adds variety. I hope you enjoy your time spent here.
Welcome Teresa. Sorry about your arm.
