Obviously, we have different opinions and outlook on this particular Photo, that is fine. What One Eye sees, another does not, and that is why we are individual Photographer's. My best wishes to you in all of your Photography endeavors, I am sorry if I offended you in my comments.

You didn't offend me, I simply could not follow your train of thought.

No Opinion but an observation, the main subject is a crab trap the little building could be a taco stand.

Your opinion.

(If it was an attempt at humor, don't quit your day job.)

I retired from my day job after 41 years and have photographed many lighthouses from New York State to Cape Cod and Main, you tell me that you can tell that the building is a Light house.

No, I cannot from the image, but I can from the title.

It also works for me as a beach scene, lighthouse or not.

Sure looks like Watch Hill Lighthouse to me, pdscott. It is a really nice shot. Love the way you framed the lighthouse with the trap and driftwood. It leads my eye to the main subject. THE LIGHTHOUSE.

Keep shooting and see what you see. It doesn't matter what others really think as long as it is pleasing to you.

So you wouldn't have shot this one because it doesn't look like a "real" lighthouse?

Or do you simply dislike his composition?

I've seen short stubby lighthouses that don't look like "real" lighthouses,
but they're still lighthouses.

I guess this is just one lighthouse you haven't seen yet. Take a trip to Watch Hill and enjoy the view.
