Is there a way to find out the Shutter Count on a Canon EOS T5i Camera? I want to sale my camera which hasn’t been used much at all and would like to report this if it’s possible.

Yes, you can download an app to do that.
Just Google it for whatever operating system you have.

The documentation for this free download says it supports the EOS T5i:

Just upload a JPG from the camera you're selling to the site below...

If you have a Mac you can use preview;
1. Open the image using 'Preview'
2. Click 'Command' and 'I' keys together
3. In the window that opens up, click on the tab with the label 'i'
4. Click on the 'Nikon' tab (assume you would have a canon tab)
5. The camera shutter count is number five on the list of items.

I have a small app on my iPad that get the info from my Canon bodies that support WiFi. I have an app from the same company or programmer that I downloaded to my computer that will get the shutter count from older Canon bodies that don't support WiFi and it's done via a direct connect with a USB cable. It doesn't work on the newer Canon bodies that have WiFi built in. I don't know why but I paid for both apps. The older app cost me about $2 and the newer app cost me something like $3.50. It only works from IOS (Apple iPad or iPhone) Just so happens that I'm not a Mac person but do use one for my drones so I have a basic iPad. It works fine from there.

The newer app cost $4.99 now; https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shuttercount/id720123827?mt=12

DIRE Studio is the company that sells the apps. You can click on the link and see which Canon bodies it's compatible with. If your body isn't listed, then you might be able to use the older app for a PC but you'll have to google it to find it.

Someone posted this link a few days ago to a video with detailed instructions. It worked on both my T3 and 7D.

I couldn't figure out what to do with .pas files. How does this work? I ended up downloading something from that video someone posted a few days ago and it worked.

Brilliant!!

Someone has replaced / corrupted the software at the link at SourceForge. I just sent you and LITTLEBIT an PM with the ZIP for the software that should exist at the URL link. I don't know what to say. I'll send a heads-up to the contact person for the SourceForge post to see if they'll restore the software to the 'official' location.

Would this type of software be able to extract shutter count from an older DSLR like my Sony alpha a350?
Thanks!

The software is Canon EOS DSLR specific, and then, even specific to certain DIGIC processor versions.
