My 'best' shot is actually just an intentionally grainy, HEAVY crop, B/W rendition of a color image of a school play performance. The story, though, makes it my favorite.

I am a math and science teacher and coach various sports, but also do what I can to help out with our school's One-Act plays. Usually I do background shots or do specific images to be converted to set decoration 'wraps' to create the feel of brick or siding or chain link fencing.... Last spring, though, I made the following image and offered it as a prop to be used in the final scene of the play.

In that scene, a main character takes the image from his work desk and has his final interaction with the now-deceased ex girlfriend/lover. As the play is set in the 1930's, the portrait had to be B/W, but purely coincidentally, the expression of our actress in the original image was PERFECT to illustrate a 'looking back' moment for both characters. Several judges praised the final scene and the prop as the play progressed towards it's State Runner-Up finish. On the screen, the image is 'blah' but on stage, an 8x10 framed print was emotionally wrenching.

Thanks for hosting, Lesley. I enjoy seeing people's favs. These 3 were my favorite "people" shots. #1 would be my prize photo for 2019. It placed 2nd in "Life Style" Category in Maine's "Down East Magazine" Reader Photo Contest - a contest with 1200+ entries. It has been featured on a local TV news magazine segment and was also chosen for a local bank calendar. A brilliant sunrise morning and my grandson in the canoe doing what he loves - fishing. #2 I like because of the sense of scale. This is a huge quarry with lines and texture making my grandson look so small. #3 is my younger grandson - just fooling with a giant leaf.

As you know I like photos that tell a story.

In a NB campground there were several logs, rotted out and with flowers Inside...gave me an idea. Came home and cut one rotted out, somewhat smaller, to put in the front yard with pansies. But the nanother idea.......

Maybe we should all wear name tags whenever we go out. I've often thought that maybe I've crossed paths with people I "know" without being aware of it.

A few more golf shots. I would like to remind everyone that Jan 1st you will be able to realize all of your mistakes. My mother always told me that Hindsight was 2020. So I for one am looking forward to the new year. Happy New Year everyone.
