Guy wants $425

I found the camera is no longer available at the usual vendors I deal with as it is discontinued.

Is $425 a reasonable price?

These folks show the following; Nice thing about all is returns and some sort of warranty...Probably other vendors as well. KEH does not show count, but MPB does. $425 is a good price, just make sure you have recourse if something isn't right. My Christmas present was a refurb D7200 from Adorama, it had 60 clicks, was less than $550, a few months back. It is a fine camera. The listings below, I have bought from all, excellent vendors.
Copied today, so it should be good info.
$529.00·Adorama CameraUsed, no tax
$529.00·mpb.comUsed, free shipping, no tax
$588.72·KEH CameraUsed, free shipping

authorizeduser, With three good batteries, with that exposure count, if the 7200 you want is in excellent condition (check out all functions with several lenses, or at least a really sharp one), that's a good price. You can run the serial number and ascertain if it's the USA version if that's important, but if you're not the original buyer, if the camera needs service down the road, almost any good independent shop will be able to take care of it. We have a 7000 and 7200, they're both great. If it's in the shape you think it is, it will give you years of great photos. Bought a 700 shortly after we bought our 7200, had Nikon go refurb it for $300, and thought it's another story, the '7xx' series has been good to us. Happy shooting and new year.

Sounds like a very good deal if you trust the seller.

Sounds like a good price to me. I bought mine a year ago and paid $465 used and thought I got a good deal. It turned out to need some auto focus adjustment which cost me $325, but I am still happy. Great camera, as good as the 7500 in my opinion and has two sd card slots. Even though the D7200 has been discontinued, you can still occasionally find new and refurbs which are bringing much more than $425.
Good luck.

You ended up spending $790 for the camera, including $325 for focusing repairs. You would have been better off buying a refurbished for $699, with a 90 day warranty.

This a good price, KEH has them for $488 to $609 depending on condition. With that low shutter count, the camera seems to be a good deal. I bought a used D7200 several years ago as a backup to my D750 and for time lapse photography. Has over 250,000 clicks and still going strong.

I bought a refurb D7200 from the Nikon store for $699.00 I think. It is essentially a DX version of the D750 FX camera, as far as the menus, and overall features are concerned. It has more clicks than my D750 now. It's a fine camera. Greg.

I have 2 - D7200's one for landscape and one for wildlife, paired with a 16x85, or 18x140 or a 150x600 these cameras have served me well in all aspects, Nighttime, daytime, portrait and on the wing. personally I will never buy another camera as these do it all for me and I love them. I say go for it and enjoy the heck outa of em. However if you have some more money in your pocket to burn, just buy an 850 or the best you can for what you can afford and ride the wild road !! Have a blast in whatever decision you make. Enjoy yourself !!

Yes, it is. I just bought one in excellent condition with shutter count at 28K, plus 1 battery and charger for $550. I would grab it or I might have to send this one back and try to latch on to your opportunity.

Consider a new D7500 thru Amazon for $795. Better low light capability and burst rate. Same processor as the D5 and D500. Sure it's an extra $300 but it will come with a five year Nikon Warranty as well. Same low light capability as the D5. Best low light capabiltiy of any crop camera. Only Nikon's D5 has better among Nikon cameras.

If that is a real deal, I would jump on it. I have owned the D7200 for just under a year and as I just checked, my last photo was just 40 exposures shy of 24000 and I have really enjoyed using it. Now that I now have a vintage 28mm f/2.8 D, and the DX 35mm f/1,8 lenses, I really started to get even better night time photos.
I hope your deal works out for you.

Thanks to all. Passed on the D7200 as when I went to buy the camera the plastic cover on the LCD was cracked, which was never disclosed to me prior. This usually is not an issue as I have had these replaced on other cameras in the past for around $50 by Midwest Camera Repair but the seller appeared to give conflicting stories on how it happen and why he was selling the camera. I was not going to buy a camera which may have been dropped or worse yet, a stolen camera.

Are you buying and resell them?

Read Nikon's return policy for returning refurbished stuff. it's a total pain especially if the issue is intermittant. After my last purchase, a D7200 I would not buy again directly from them. Would go thru someone else with a no questions asked return policy.
Indecently, my refurbed D7200 came with 13,000 clicks.
