Excellent shot...
Enjoying the images you’re posting.

That’s a good one--two portraits in one.
Two good posts for the day, User. I don't take people, but enjoy looking at good "street".
Very nicely done. I like it
Great street!
In color, yet!
Dave
Great street / environmental portrait shot.... also an example of colour in composition.
Keep coming back to look at this one.
Such interesting replies. The image is kinda typical
of an artist selling stuff at an outdoor arts festival.
The hard light looks like sunshine, got a brick wall,
etc. So I understand that some take it as "street".
Actually, it's indoors, in a home, nothing is for sale,
no arts festival, and the "outdoorsy" looking chairs
are from the kitchen. Thaz why I'm finding replies
so interesting. Thanks for the study in perception !

Good street shot. I'm glad he is not looking toward the camera. It makes the shot more interesting for us to guess what might have captured his attention. Well done.

Thank you also for continuing this study in
perception, which I hope you find amusing
and interesting as I do. The photo is not a
street shot ... was never presented as one.
The thread is titled "Domestic Scene". That
should have indicated that it's in a home ...
but somehow it looked so much like "street"
to many viewers that the title became moot.
Also never intended it as any sort of study
in perception but somehow it becomes one.
Please read my post just above your post,
right above. Moreover, I think you might
find it interesting to read the whole thread
.... it's not very long thus far. Enjoy !

Seems like posting the uncropped version
might help clarify things. Hope this helps:

Not really. Still looks like good street...
Agree with Neil here.
Viewer perception trumps lots in my opinion. Even with your explanation nothing except perhaps the lighting that looks slightly "un outside" like hints as to the scene's location. I find this a well composed interesting shot of this unique gentleman and his (supposedly) creation.

And I agree with that. That is why I've thanked
everyone for this "pop-up" Study in Perception.
It's been an unexpected little journey of wonder,
especially due to the undisclosed back stories of
this picture. Yes,
stories is plural :-)

Good point. And they're siblings.
Ponder that just a bit.
