All along my husband and I have been looking at each other in disbelief --"For real?" "Cane in charge?" "Obama is the wind up and Cane the punch line?"
And why are they still so surprised about Cane's reference to "Pokémon" when Bush made the reference to "Those evil doers" (more "Pokémon") when 911 happened... If I hadn't had young kids at that time I may have missed the "Evil doers" tag BUT my (then) 10 year old looked at me when Pres Bush said that and said to me, "Mom he watches Pokémon!!"

Just spent a 1/2 day with a group of folks with cameras. Cameras that ranged from old Leicas to a Nikon 7000. People who you would think would know better. People that pronounce the word "picture" as PITCHER (someone who tosses something or a container for liquid) instead of (phonetically) PICT-CHUR. It is a very subtle thing but it sets my teeth on edge. Guess I am WAY too nit-picky but it is like someone pronounces your child's name wrong. I KNOW I'm gonna get flamed for this one.
I sincerely hope this is the biggest problem you face each day... I would hate to see what would happen if a real challenge came your way.
an i thought erl was mountain for oil, also where i grew up a paper bag was called a poke, after purchase the customer would say "jest put itn' a poke". I likely heard that phrase everyday

Prof Higgens I'm glad you speak the Kings English as it should be spoken. I always pronounced picture as pitcher tell my wife pointed out it was wrong. It is hard to not talk as you have been brought up to talk. If you were at a convention of English teachers it should bother you. If you are with camera people that are talking camera overlook the English. - Dave
