My father as a teenager in the 1930s worked for a strip mining operation In Pennsylvania. The process wrecked the land. Now the fracking business has devastated much of the same areas. It seems that no one really cares what happens after the work is done and now it looks like the damaged areas may not be restored.

In November, E&E News reported that there's movement to allow or expand such wastewater dumping in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania, all states with major fracking industries. “Within a year, Oklahoma could get approval from EPA to start issuing permits that will allow the oil industry to dispose of briny oil field waste in waterways,” E&E wrote.

I am not at all worried. Jesus is going to renew the earth. It says “neither shall they learn war anymore.” He is going to rule the nations from Jerusalem for 1000 years. If everyone on earth believed God, we could all welcome Him.

Well, isn’t that a special way to look at things. Thanks for sharing.

I am not opposed for almost any use of the land with one proviso. The land must be left in the same condition as when the usage began. With very few exceptions

Well, the new EPA rules may not follow your wishes. It’s a shame, really a shame.

Since you believe god made the earth and everything on it, why do you feel no responsibility to maintain it?

There is a boy scout moto that's appropiate here. When camping or outside for any reason "Leave it the way you found it." The US Gov't would do well to follow it

So all the skyscrapers in cities must come down at some point? Your home must be leveled?

Why don't you set the example and raze your house and make a park?

If Jesus does return, he is going to be really pissed off. This is the stupidest rationalization for destroying our environment anyone can ever offer. I think this was also promulgated by James Watt when he was Reagan's Secretary of the Interior. A Secretary of the Interior who believed that "since the second coming will be soon, we don't have to worry about protecting the environment". What a dumb-ass.

Guess what - Jesus didn't return for James Watt, and he isn't going to return for you. He will not return for false Christians who worship a whore-monger who assaults women and locks children in cages. So maybe - to be "conservative" - let's assume that Jesus is NOT going to make it back in our lifetime, and let's start taking care of our home!
