I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It has accurate history, parables, signs and wonders, and zero lies. It says that in the last days, knowledge will be increased, it does NOT say our knowledge will be perfect. "The Heavens declare the Glory of God." An atheist will never see the Glory of God. I am an electrical engineer and I got high grades in college, (but I did get a D in statics, and 1 C, not in my major) and I study Astronomy, math, photography, and I am a quilter and I take viola lessons, and I am writing a wonderful musical about quilting. I suffered thru breast cancer last Spring. I believe God could give someone the equations of the universe. What about the Mathematics Millenium (sp?) Problems proposed by the Clay Institute? The Mass Gap problem might require all new mathematics. I have a book right now that relates Maxwell Equations to the Yang-Mill Equations, and it says, "No mortal can understand both the Mathematics and the Physics."

What is an Atheist? I believe in a God/ Higher Power -call it the energy of the universe which is ever being investigated and we learn a tiny bit more every year - BUT I don't believe in the God of the Bible or the writings of it's writers - I have done much of research on Moses, Hell, Sodom and Gamora and found it quite enlightening - you might also.
In my first years of Church and Biblical studies 30 yrs ago I found a loving forgiving God but over the years I have found the flaws in that thinking - it went to learning and living a lifestyle I never knew how to -I no longer liked my old lifestyle of a drunk, lyer , cheat, thief and womanizer - 30 yrs in AA including 12 yrs as a mens leader in Celebrate Recovery give my the experience to which I prefer to live by today.

Saved from what? That is a promise by some one who only knows what he thinks -from my time in Bible studies there seems to be a lot of discrepancy on what and when or if even was written by John . I know I question his sanity in some that are credited to him.

yesterday is a canceled check - tomorrow is a promissory note - today is the only cash you have So Spend It Wisely.

Harvey, I just read all your posts. I believe you are saved. God knows your heart, your work, your love.
With all the love in my heart, I have to tell you that the Bible says that "The wages of sin is death." God will judge each of us. There is no salvation except in believing that Jesus endured your punishment for you, when He died on the cross, because He was fully eternally God and fully man (God is His Father, Mary, a virgin at the time, was his mother), and He was begotten, not made, because He has always existed before He, Himself created time. Hell, is where people go who don't believe go until Judgement day, and the Lake of Fire is the "second death." It is in the Book of Revelation, the last book.

A definition of an Atheist is that they do not believe there is a God. God is Perfect, Holy and ALL GOOD. There is no "dark side" of God. The "force" in the fun movie, Star Wars, is fiction. I enjoyed "Star Wars" and all the "Harry Potter" books do have a great plot. God's Love is so great, that He made this whole universe so we could have a place to make our mistakes. Jesus said "With God, All things are possible."

Some where in John it says "repent - go forth and sin no more" yep worked for me.

Yes, you believe. You are saved. You will have a mansion in the Eternal City, where you will never feel pain again. You will have a glorified body, like Jesus'. Maybe we can design and build space ships and explore the New Heavens? I don't know. Nobody knows what wonderful happiness God has in store for them that love Him.

I think our new glorified bodies won't need sleep, or to go to the bathroom, and we can eat or not eat, all we want. but it doesn't spell that out in the Bible.

I hope to play in an orchestra for a few million years, in Heaven. I love the piano, the cello, and the viola.

The description in Revelation, (the last book in the Bible) of the Eternal City does NOT mention any sewers. I don't think our glorified bodies will need to go to the bathroom

The definition of an atheist is someone who believes there is no god. You sure are big in on making up your own definitions.

I just said that an atheist believes there is no god. My next sentence was about how Good God is.

I took the whole thing to be your description of an atheist, but on second look, you are correct, that is what you said. Sorry, my mistake.

I just finished reading some interesting info regarding the Lake of Fire and it seems the writer of revelations was using older writings and references from Ancient Egyptian religion as well a writings by Plato
https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Lake_of_fire

So again I question this Book of Revelations as being inspired by God but infact just another fairy tail.

I'm not saying this as an admit ion to there being a God of the Bible but my belief is in a Loving Forgiving Higher power/God of my understanding.

Not sure that I understood that?

First off, the Creator of the universe is loving and forgiving.

However, if you want a good of your understanding ... I'm kind of lost there.

Did you mean a Creator no more complex than human understanding allows? Can't help you there.

I can't speak for atheists. I wouldn't call myself an atheist, as I understand the definition. I can't declare there is no god. I feel fairly confident in saying the god of the bible is imaginary, but that doesn't make me an atheist. I believe in black holes, based on who else believes as much as anything else. There is way to much information available today for any one person to understand it all, with the possible exception of your omniscient self.

So your answer is no.
