Capture One 20 Activation

Is anyone else still having trouble getting C1 20 activated? Been going round and round with support, but still no resolution.

Go to the Capture One forum and look for the posting that has the most views/responses. There are very specific instructions in the initial posting that you can follow.
I had done a pre-release purchase - and the code they gave was not an activation code - but a code to get the discount. Not well done. I followed the instruction in the posting and have been up and running for a few weeks with 20.

dandev is correct. I had the same problem and solve it this way. Just went to purchase, put the code pre-release code in the coupon window and the amount due became zero. That was all. They should have call it discount coupon.

thank you both, I have done that, and have downloaded the software. The problem is when I try to open it a window opens wanting an activation code. I have tried every number I have and sent screenshots to support, and they just keep sending me back to the same old stuff that is not working

You should have an email from them with the license key. Be sure it didn't end up in your Spam folder.

That is a good idea selmslie. I looked (again) at all including trash and spam and am not finding the email with the proper code. Thank you

I'm guessing you tried this - but in C1 - go to Help/License. Does that activation code do anything?

Thank you dandev, I did check that: it shows only my 12 code. On a similar thread earlier in the month, Mr. SONY wrote of a receipt issue. Maybe that is what my problem is.

If you used the discount code you would have to go through the full purchase process, except that the purchase price will be $0. Once purchased, you should receive an email with the license key. Did you go through the entire purchase process (add to cart, purchase, receipt, etc.)?

Yes, I went through the purchase process. It is now clear thanks to all of you that I never received the email with the license key. I am trying to get that understood by C1 Support.

Using C1 20 since the release. If I had a problem with activation I'd remember... since I don't I probably didn't.

I had the same problem. They told me they were aware of the problem and it would be sorted out within a month. They made several suggestions on how to work around, but none were satisfactory. I got so frustrated, I asked for a refund and received it. Had been mulling over whether to go with C1 or ON1 and after this experience, I decided on ON1. May thought was that if C1 is having this much trouble just activating a license then how responsive is the software itself.

On1 starts really fast and the tutorials are three times longer and you learn this intuitive software faster. I dropped One since the tutorials are not very good and too fast and start up was hit or miss.
