PHOTO app saved to desktop image is now camera image number.
Recently, instead of seeing an image in all apps saved to the desktop icon as a tiny copy of the original image, it is now the camera photo number. All of the other program icons have not changed. I have sent an inquiry to Microsoft & was advised they would have to consult with a specialist & that I MIGHT get an answer someday. PHOTO is a default app so it can not be uninstalled in hopes that newer version might solve problem. I am using Windows 10 & have run both anti-virus & malware cleaners.
Any suggestions welcomed.

The cause could be either a file association error, or a change to the icon settings. The latter shouldn't be too difficult to fix; you will simply need to go into the Settings for icon display and get it back to were it was before.
Try this:
Right click on the icon
Click on properties
Click on change icon

Sometimes, that's the best you can hope for.
I have never heard of a glitch like that. It would be interesting to learn the cause.

Your description is a bit confusing. If I try to make sense of it, it sounds like you are seeing camera photo numbers instead of thumbnails of your images files.
This can happen in a folder that contains your photos and if that is the problem, it is easy to correct. You just need to change the view of the folder that is displaying the photo numbers rather than picture thumbnails (as icons). To change the view, click on "View" in the top menu bar of the folder and then click on any of the four choices that end in "icons". This will change your view from a list of file names (i.e., the camera photo numbers) to a set of thumbnail images.
