I make no claim of being any sort of authority on marketing, but IMHO shutting one's website down at this time of year is shooting yourself in both feet.

They were one of my favorites: outstanding service. But their web site is down.
The store is closed. This is what I received from a friend who works there. "Bill retired and in the process of selling. Deal hasn’t gone through yet but we ran out of stock so we closed earlier than expected."

I stick with B&H, Adorama, and Campus Camera in Kent Ohio. I do not worry about anything as these three have never let me down. When I needed the new Sony 200-600 lens, Campus Camera got in touch with their Sony rep. and I had it in one week. They also have the same prices as B&H and Adorama.

Absolutely....they should fire the web designer....you test the new site in a hidden directory....when it's ready you switch over which takes seconds.
The owner of Cameta decided to retire and is selling the business. I spoke to Steve who has worked at Cameta for many, many years and he seems to believe that the new owners will be taking over soon and they should be reopening in February. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I hate to hear that Cameta Camera is closed. I bought a ton of equipment from them in the past. They were always fair and stood behind their sales. Sorry to see you go Cameta!
