On the contrary, I love conversations about photography but with examples posted. As you stated about Adams, what a said affair if he only speculated. I'm more of a doer than talker. This post actually got me thinking more about my annual get together with the family for Christmas. I'm the grandpa that sits in the background with camera in hand. I use a telephoto lens and take down to earth candid shots of my kids, grand kids and other family members. I gift all the adults with photos after editing and sorting. It's a real pleasure when on occasion I see some that have been printed and hung in the homes. I have candid portraits of all of my tribe in B&W. No distractions, that moment is captured forever with freckles, wrinkles, expressions. They are my favorites. My oldest son is having a hard time with life, and I'm hoping to capture his soul in a photo this Christmas. Of coarse it will be B&W. If he keeps up at this rate he won't last another year. I won't talk about it and probably won't share that photo if capture, but I will try. The main reason I like photography is the effort involved. I recently traveled 600 miles to capture a scene I had failed two years ago to capture. It was, Nice, but not what I had hoped for. God willing and the creek doesn't rise, I'll go back to the location again and again until I achieve the perfect light for that photograph. You mentioned you enjoyed my photography, Thank you. I can promise those images were not captured the first time I tried. I would welcome a hardy discussion of capturing the essence, soul of a love one, but would also enjoy viewing an image that moved me........

Thank you for clarifying your view, Martin. I was misled by your comments into believing that you didn't think much of the topic raised by the OP and of photography discussions in general. And yes, I find your images astounding, especially the spiders!
Best wishes to you and family....
