Stumbled upon this in the woods in Central PA a few years back.
Interesting shape. I can see why it named "slipper."

We also have orchid lady slippers in western Mass, including the much less common northern yellow lady slipper, a native of North America.

However the Flash is a bit on the hot side, suggest you use a little diffusion, like maybe one or two layers of tissue.
I have not seen one in the wild in 40 years. When I was a kid, it was not uncommon to see them in the deep woods. Really a nice photo!
I remember seeing these in the virgin forests around where I grew up. Now I only see them in orchid gardens. Your image is lovely. I've never seen one that colour.
An elegant plant that grows wild. Very nicely photographed.
