Canon Pixma PRO-100 Excellent Customer Service

My photographs recently started showing orange tints. Printing the test page show that the area that was supposed to be yellow was ORANGE!!... I replaced the yellow cartridge, same result. Cleaned the heads, again same thing. Here is where I got a little confused by the online manual so I called Canon's customer service. Wait time was 21 minutes but eventually I was speaking with a CSR. He guided me through several steps and stayed on the line the entire time which was probably about 25 minutes. (Now I understand why the wait time was so long.)

He was successful in correcting the problem. And this is on a printer that was purchased in May 2015.

KUDOS to Canon!!!

Problem = yellow printing was ORANGE.

Based on all the buttons he had me pushing which I think it was a "system reset." e.g 15 times Resume/Cancel then 15 times on the Power button.

Disconnected from power source, remove all the inks and take the ink tray out to inspect it for obvious damage.

Put everything back, plug it in and the test print was perfect.

Canon's biggest strength is it's unparalleled customer service. I'm a CPS member and on numerous occasions, they have gone well beyond my expectations.

Plus 1 on kudos for Canon customer service on their printers. Had a Canon Pro1000 that was out of warranty by a month or two, and one of the cartridges was stuck - couldn't remove it for love nor money. Had a Canon rep on the line for about 40 minutes trying different things none of which worked. So the rep shipped me a new one which arrived a couple of days later, and I shipped the malfunctioning printer back postage paid by Canon. Aside from the outstanding print quality, the customer service is why I will always buy Canon printers.

For printers I agree with Canon. Have both the Pro 100 and thePro 1000. No problems. Had an Epson 3880 which developed a blocked head. Cost me $750 for service and the head blocked almost immediately Changed to Canon printers. But am a Nikon man.

I had a similar experience with Canon on my Pixma Pro. The tech stayed on the line with me for an hour. By any chance was your tech named Charles?

Canon is the only printer mfg that has the customer service in the US. I had an HP printer before, and to get any help it was a nightmare. Accents are hard to understand. Canon is the best in this area.
